From The Daily Mail:
Mohammed Abdul, the Imam of a Bristol mosque, was filmed urging a follower to take women and girls abroad so they can be circumcised legally. In Britain, the practise was banned by law in 2003, and it’s illegal to help or encourage anyone to carry out the barbaric procedure overseas.
The Daily Mail article above got one detail wrong: that there’s nothing in islamic scripture encouraging genital mutilation. In fact, there’s plenty of encouragement from God’s Prophet himself for this noble act, according to this site that gives a thorough overview of the practise world-wide. Warning, some graphic pictures in there!
God’s wish is strong: The Almighty wants you to take a razor or a sharp stone and cut off parts of your child’s genitalia. If needed, feel free to break your country’s law to do so. Because pesky laws are obviously infinitely less important than the command of the Creator of the Universe.
Also, God doesn’t care much about anaesthetics.
