U.S. Presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s father-in-law has been successfully converted from hard-necked atheist to the mormon church!
The catch? The conversion was done two years after his death.
Two readers have sent us confirmation that Edward Davies, Mitt Romney’s militantly atheist father-in-law, was indeed posthumously converted to Mormonism by his family, despite the fact that when he was alive he regarded all religions as “hogwash.”
Mormonism is a branch of Christianity. Its holy book was dictated by a guy called Joseph Smith from golden plates he found buried in a hill in upstate New York. There is no trace of the golden plates, other than Smith’s word that an angel revealed them to him in 1827. The church has about 14 million followers. Also, members get special protection from evil when wearing magic underwear.
If you think that is absurd, compare it to the key claims made by standard branches of Christianity.
